Systeme.io free plan: what you actually get, and when you'd need to upgrade
Systeme.io is an all-in-one tool for landing pages, email, online courses and checkout. Its free plan is unusually generous, so here's what it really includes and where you'd hit a wall.
Checked October 18, 2026 against systeme.io/pricing. Plans change, so treat the vendor's page as the final word.

Who the free plan suits
Good fit
- You want a simple opt-in page plus an email follow-up
- You're selling one small course or digital product
- Your list is under 2,000 people
- You'd rather not stitch together 4 separate tools
You'll outgrow it if…
- You need more than one automation rule (e.g. tag-based sequences)
- You run several products, each with its own funnel
- Your list passes 2,000 contacts
- You want evergreen webinars
The real bottleneck: one automation rule
Most people expect the 2,000-contact cap to bite first. In practice it's usually the single automation rule and single email campaign. That's enough for "someone signs up → gets the welcome sequence", but not for separate sequences per lead magnet or tag. If your plan is a set of lead magnets that each start a different email series, budget for a paid plan.
Paid plans, briefly
| Plan | Monthly | Contacts | Funnels | Courses |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Startup | $17 | 5,000 | 10 | 5 |
| Webinar | $47 | 10,000 | 50 | 20 |
| Unlimited | $97 | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |

A sensible way to start
- Build one opt-in page offering a single, useful freebie (a checklist or template).
- Connect a thank-you page that delivers the freebie.
- Use your one automation rule to start a short welcome email sequence.
- Connect your custom domain so the pages look like yours.
- Upgrade only when a limit actually blocks you, not "just in case".
Full disclosure: I've just joined Systeme.io's affiliate program, and this guide sets out what the free plan includes. I'm building my own first funnel on the free plan now and will add a hands-on section, with screenshots, once it's live.
